Think Local First meeting

Last night I went to the annual meeting of Think Local First at the Vitosha Guest Haus. They are an organization in Ann Arbor that does outreach to promote local businesses in the Washtenaw County and also keeps a list compiled on their website and yearly pamphlets of all members. They host the Ann Arbor Treasure Hunt, Buy Local Week, and also participate in many other events like the Homegrown Festival and Townie Party.

All of the food was catered by local businesses–cheese/meat tray from Morgan & York, meatballs from Zingerman’s, rolled sammiches from Cafe Marie, and Silvio’s Pizza. There were also some great grilled veggies and giant brownies.

I was really happy with speakers and their presentations. Grand Rapid’s Local First is definitely doing some sweet things–I would love a coupon book for Ann Arbor businesses!

Thanks for coming and posting your experience. Maybe someday we will have a coupon book!
